Speaker bio:
Dr. Ruggles is a scientist and engineer whose work focuses on enabling a clean energy transition. He uses energy system models to understand optimal system design and operations considering varied weather and energy markets. After 10 years in academia, Dr. Ruggles has pivoted towards industry and currently works at Powertech USA, a hydrogen infrastructure and engineering firm.
Dr. Virgüez is an energy systems engineer researching the transition toward decarbonized electric power systems, producing >40 publications cited >500 times. Currently, Dr. Virgüez, works as the Deputy Group Leader and a Research Fellow at the Climate-Energy Lab in Carnegie Science (Stanford University campus).
