The energy market and energy pricing are critical to realizing accessible and sustainable energy for all by 2030, as called for by Sustainable Development Goal 7, and promoting net zero carbon emissions to fight climate change. Appropriate market policies can help alleviate barriers to improved renewable energy growth and energy efficiency, and encourage private investment for projects needed to achieve energy sustainability targets. Market design and pricing reform can also boost crucial cross-sector energy synergy and international energy cooperation.
The Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) is seeking original, unpublished papers on the energy market and energy pricing toward low-carbon energy transition, with a focus on Asia and the Pacific. Any energy intensive sector may be covered, such as electricity, heating, transportation, buildings, and industry, as well as either renewable or non-renewable energy. Selected papers will be featured during related ADBI events and considered for inclusion in an ADBI edited book or journal special issue.
Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:
Energy Market
